The ‘Bengal Beach Soccer Premier League’, an effort of the Beach Sports Association is a dream to bring the short and smart format of football on the exotic Beaches of Tajpur in West Bengal. After a successful launch of the tournament’s Logo and Mascot at the Calcutta Press Club via a successful Press Conference, now we will continue with our blog introducing the Star Players to you, who will certainly be the Centre of Attraction at November 3rd to 6th in Tajpur. With 8 International teams coming from all over the globe, this piece will give you an intro of the team which will arrive from Botswana.

Botswana is a land-locked nation situated in the south of Africa. The country is 70% covered with the infamous Kalahari Desert. Thus, the inhabitants are aware of how to play the game of football on the sand and Botswana are definitely a team to watch out for in the Bengal Bengal Soccer Premier League 2017.

Players to Watch Out For:
Atang Mmualefe is a Botswana beach footballer who is lethal on the Left Wing and is equally good as a Supporting Striker. Born in 1993, 24 year old Mmualefe has played for Mochudi Centre Chief Juniors between the years 2007 and 2009. He was even capped about 4 times for the Botswana U-20 side. After playing for the Juniors during his young days, Mmualefe cemented his place in the Mochudi Centre Chiefs (senior side). From 2010 till 2016, he appeared in 40 matches for the Chiefs until he moved to Gilport Lions FC last season.

Diphetogo “Dipsy” Selolwane, one of the most decorated footballers of Botswana is the main man of the Botswana Side to look out for. With 18 goals from 68 caps, Dipsy is even hailed as one of the Botswana geeats by many. Dipsy scored the first ever goal scored by the national team in a major international tournament. On 28 January 2012, He scored from the spot against Guinea in the African Cup of Nations.
Selolwane first played for Gaborone United in the Botswana Premier League. He was then drafted by the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer and played for Real Salt Lake in the following season as a Striker. He returned to Africa, first to Botswana and then to the South African Premier Soccer League. His first PSL club was Santos, before moving to Jomo Cosmos. He signed with Ezenkosi for the 2007-08 season and joined Ajax Cape Town in early 2008. His PSL career flourished at Ajax, where he was converted to a midfielder and earned a July 2010 move to league champions Supersport United.
